InGAME: Innovation for Games and Media Enterprise is anexciting multi-million pound investment in Dundee's video games cluster. InGAME will deliver an R&D Centre at the heart of the Dundee cluster and offer R&D support and services for the games and media industry in the city and beyond. Led by Abertay University, and in partnership with the University of Dundee, the University of St Andrews and local and international industry partners, InGAME will increase the value and scale of the cluster through cutting edge research and innovation in creative, technological and collaborative business processes.
The project seeks to appoint a Research Assistant with a track record of academic or professional experience in Technology Innovation, providing expertise in technology interoperation across state-of-the-art hardware,software and network architectures. The Research Assistant will work collaboratively with InGAME Directors, R&D Fellows, academic researchers and industry partners to facilitate rapid prototyping, technology assessment and concept demonstrators.
The InGAME Research Assistant will demonstrate experience of working with games technology development environments (e.g. AR/VR/GPGPU), ideally across a range of technologies and/ or operating systems, in order to develop and maintain our Experimental Game and Extended Reality Labs. The role requires a highly motivated and independent facilitator with good organisational and communications skills.
Abertay University's longstanding relationship with national and multi-national games companies offers a unique opportunity to catalyse the value chain in the Dundee cluster. The academic partnership with Dundee University in Design for Business,and St Andrews School of Management's expertise in Creative Industries offers aworld-leading research base for the R&D partnership. The InGAME R&D Centre and cohort of Creative R&D Fellows will establish a new mode of engagement for industry and universities to work effectively and responsively to meet the challenge of cross-sector collaborative R&D in the Creative Industries.
