Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.
The University is looking to appoint a lecturer who can contribute to the delivery of its LLB(Hons) programme which is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland and the Faculty of Advocates. While any area of expertise within the accredited programme requirements will be considered, an interest in teaching a range of core Scottish law modules would be particularly welcome. Experience in legal practice will be an advantage, as will being qualified to practice law in Scotland.
Within the School of Business, Law and Social Sciences, the Division of Law delivers an undergraduate LLB (Hons) programme and contributes to the delivery of law modules in other divisions and schools across the University. Our programme has a strong emphasis on the development of transferable skills along with the academic discipline of law. The Division supervises a number of PhD candidates and there is an established research culture which led to a successful submission to the REF2021. This, therefore, is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute to the further development of the Division.
Reporting to the Head of Division of Law you will provide teaching input to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes while taking a leading role in fostering and developing the research culture in the Division of Law.
