External and Corporate Relations leads the University in both its outward facing activities and its internal corporate relationships and communications.
The External Relations staff comprises a mix of specialisms – creative content producers, event organisers, fundraisers, recruitment, communications and marketing staff, ensuring the University is positioned with a distinctive voice and creates impact in terms of both reputation and revenue.
The University now seeks to appoint a Marketing Officer (Short Courses and CPD).
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will join a small and friendly team of impact-driven, creative professionals. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively across teams and with a number of stakeholders to curate and execute an annual work plan of activity to support ongoing short course student recruitment.
This role offers a professional marketer the opportunity to make their mark quickly through a segmented customer challenge within a friendly working environment.
Note: Abertay University offers a hybrid working environment (a balance of homeworking/in office) to suit all candidates.
This role requires a person who can communicate effectively, persuasively and imaginatively both in person and in writing, and has experience in email marketing, social media, relationship management, and content management systems.
Main purpose of the role:
To recruit prospective students interested in upskilling through short professional courses.
To manage and provide data and metrics on the marketing and recruitment impacts.
To curate case studies/engaging content on the short course ‘graduates’ to support ongoing short course development plans.
To be an active team player within the Marketing team, collaborating with colleagues to deliver on the annual External and Corporate Relations plan.
Role Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for creating and managing short course content on Abertay’s external website.
Managing regular targeted communications and promotions to recruit short course students and across a number of channels, including social media, email, print and radio. This will include paid advertising.
Work as part of a small team within Marketing in a collaborative and solution-orientated manner to support brand enhancement activities that drive student recruitment.
